We’ve been through a lot and we’ve seen a lot of change.

Those of us born by the end of 1980 have experienced so much cultural upheaval – probably more than most for those of us who consider ourselves ‘queer’ – a member of one or more of the LGBTQIA+ community.

This project is quite simple in it’s aim – to make a portrait of us; how we look in middle-age and also capture a little of where we are in life – what we’ve seen and experienced, where we think we are and what we are anticipating for the future.

Getting involved is easy – drop me a line by email or on Instagram and we’ll chat. I’ll be shooting fro my home studio (Leeds) and throughout the UK – as well as in limited international locations in the coming years.

Your commitment is to give me a day (a few hours) of your life – where we’ll not only make your photographic portrait but also spend a few hours present in one another’s company – talking about where we are in life.

I will record this conversation, transcribe the interesting bits and use this to form an essay to go alongside the portraits in an exhibition and book. Your words can be attributed to you or anonymised. What you say and answer is entirely up to you and you have veto on word and image use.

You also get a copy of all used photos for your own personal use.
